Just get used to cleaning your mirror frequently because you will splash water all over it.īottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend It isn't as effective over time, but still a genius idea. On the positive side, the 2-minute timer is great, vibration is surprisingly powerful for just a battery (although I have never used an electric toothbrush before so I have nothing to compare it to). I guess after switching brush heads a few times the handle connections wear down, so it doesn't fit securely. The last and most troublesome issue is that the brush head just falls off while brushing so I had to duct tape it to the handle. It is possible to clean by getting a coin or something to unscrew the bottom, but it is rather difficult to get all of the dirt without spending quite a few minutes getting all the nooks and crannies with whatever small instrument and paper towel you can find. There is also a lot of dirt that collects in the bottom of the mirror case, which isn't a huge problem unless you also use it (as intended) as a travel cover. It is a good idea to use the old brush head to remove that dirt but it's still there every time you brush.

The crack between the handle and brush head is full of dirt, which you notice when switching brush heads. The fourth problem I had takes a little longer to notice, but there are areas that get absolutely disgusting. I haven't checked but I would recommend a plan that didn't include toothpaste if it's significantly cheaper (but I doubt that's available). Apparently, they just upgraded their toothpaste but the bottle looked identical and I couldn't tell a difference.

The third thing, an insane amount of extra toothpaste, and it's not very good. I could have called and I'm sure they would have sent another, but still an inconvenience. The second refill box I got was missing a brush head. Since we both knew that I could simply cancel and just reorder at no charge, he responded to my request of canceling by saying "he could reship for free" (lol, wow that's amazing how quick he was able to change the shipping policy). The customer service person I spoke with said he would have to charge extra to reship. Completely my fault, but mistakes happen.

First off, I typed my zip code incorrectly by 1 number so it was sent to the wrong place. I had five issues during these 10 months. I got the four-person family plan, and after three refills I am most definitely canceling my subscription. Floss is most likely not going to attract any new customers who are looking for a revolutionary flossing experience, but it might be a nice add-on for current Quip subscribers.Very neat idea but the product has a lot of room for improvement. In their review of the best electric toothbrushes, Wirecutter says Quip’s toothbrush vibrations are as weak as disposable toothbrushes from Oral-B. Like so many direct-to-consumer brands before it, Quip’s products sell customers on convenience, and the belief that a sleek, minimalist design translates to a better product - but falters it comes down to actual quality. If they’re on a refill plan, subscribers can get a $5 replacement brush sent to them every three months. The company’s electric toothbrushes (which start at $25 as part of a starter kit) run on a AAA battery, which enables the timer to shut off at the 2-minute mark. Most people know Quip from its staunch dedication to sponsoring podcasts, or its ubiquitous ads in the New York City subway. But at about the size of a tube of lipstick, Floss is slightly bigger and weightier, not to mention more expensive than a regular pack of floss you can get at the drugstore. “Quip has applied its obsessive design ethos to create a completely new floss experience to inspire better habits and help to build routines,” the press material reads. The amount of floss is tiny in comparison to the applicator (which comes in iPhone-esque colors of rose gold, black, silver, and gold), and looks kind of like a tampon.

All the weighty applicator does is house the refillable tube of floss, which emerges when you click the tube like a ballpoint pen. The floss is pre-marked in green every 18 inches, the “dentist recommended amount to give each tooth its own section”.Īt first glance of the photos, I thought the tube was meant to go into your mouth, like one of those floss picks that come in packs of 100. The metallic dispenser will sell for $20 and refillable floss canisters, which are automatically delivered every three months, will sell for $5 each.
